Speak Up and Speak Out: The Lemon Law

Is your car turning out to be a trouble more than a help? Is it pulling more expense than your monthly installments? Have you tried contacting the manufacturing company regarding the case? Still facing problems? It’s time to speak up before the time runs out.

One of my clients Mr. Williams was facing similar problems with his 2015 Nissan Sentra with over 20,000 miles on it. Everything was going smoothly until the vehicle started showing some lag upon acceleration. Soon after this problem occurred, he took the car to the nearest Nissan dealership for repairs.

He was asked to pick up the car in a week. Later he started facing the transmission issues with the vehicle. Mr. Williams tried getting it repaired once again, but the transmission was still showing similar problems.

When Mr. Williams approached me with this case, he was a bit hesitant about the Lemon Law. His first question to me was,” Does Lemon Law covers used cars as well?”  In the next few meetings, we tried getting to the core of the problem which started a month later he bought the car.

I was clear about the scenario and worked accordingly. We claimed Nissan regarding all the problems and the repairs, Mr. Williams got in his car since he 2017.  Within a short span of time after claiming to Nissan North America, the manufacturer agreed upon the car was lemon. They started the refund process soon as they realized it was a lemon. Nissan refunded everything Mr. Williams spent on his car deducted the usage fee, and even paid for my expenses and costs. Mr. Williams was delighted to know that lemon law is applied to used cars as well.
